Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a chronic condition requiring long-term management, particularly in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Self-management plays a crucial role in improving patients’ quality of life. Health education, especially audiovisual-based education, is considered effective in enhancing patients’ understanding and adherence. This study aimed to analyze the effect of audiovisual education on self-management among patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis. This study employed a systematic review method using the PRISMA 2020 approach. Articles were searched through PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, ProQuest, and SAGE Journals databases within the period of 2021–2026. A document review was conducted by systematically analyzing relevant literature retrieved from five electronic databases (ScienceDirect, Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, and Sage) using predefined keywords. The selected articles were screened and evaluated according to the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, resulting in six eligible studies that met the established inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that health education, particularly audiovisual-based methods such as videos and multimedia, significantly improves self-management in CKD patients. Improvements were observed in knowledge, treatment adherence, self-efficacy, and disease management abilities. Additionally, healthcare providers and family support play important roles in the success of educational interventions. Audiovisual education is effective in improving self-management among CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis.
