Danau Perintis faces interconnected challenges involving plastic waste management and the limited availability of distinctive tourism merchandise that represents the destination. This study develops an eco-visual branding approach by transforming discarded plastic bottle caps into functional keychains that combine local visual identity, ecological narratives, and practical utility. An exploratory research and development design was implemented through the Double Diamond stages of Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver, supported by field observation, informal manager interviews, material experimentation, prototyping, documentation, simulated market testing, and descriptive evaluation. The development produced twelve keychains under the brand identity Perintis by Aruna with the tagline “From Waste to Worth.” All twelve units were sold at IDR 20,000 per unit during a campus-based exhibition, generating IDR 240,000 in gross revenue and providing initial evidence of product acceptance within the tested environment. The findings further demonstrate that material transformation can function as part of destination storytelling by connecting waste origin, local visual elements, product utility, and consumer interaction. The study formulates the Eco-Visual Branding Loop, integrating ecological input, material transformation, local visual identity, digital storytelling, AISAS activation, and market feedback. The model provides a practical framework for developing circular tourism merchandise while requiring further validation through larger-scale production, consumer profiling, material safety testing, and longitudinal digital communication measurement.
