Abstract

The rapid development of digital business in Indonesia has encouraged the growing use of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah in Islamic economics research, yet the development, methodological quality, and conceptual orientation of this literature remain insufficiently mapped. This study examines publication trends, digital-business domains, methodological characteristics, maqāṣid al-syarī'ah dimensions, and research gaps in nationally accredited SINTA journals published between 2022 and 2026. A structured literature review was conducted using systematic search, screening, critical appraisal, and descriptive content analysis procedures. Literature was identified through GARUDA and Google Scholar, while journal accreditation was verified through the official SINTA portal. Seven studies satisfied the eligibility criteria and were included in the final synthesis. The literature is concentrated in digital marketing and Sharia fintech/e-wallets, each represented by two studies, while e-commerce, digital economic empowerment, and the digital economy are represented by one study each. Methodological appraisal indicates heterogeneous evidentiary strength and uneven reporting quality across empirical and library-based studies. In terms of maqāṣid dimensions, ḥifẓ al-māl appears in all seven studies (100.0%), while ḥifẓ al-dīn, ḥifẓ al-nafs, ḥifẓ al-'aql, and ḥifẓ al-nasl each appear in five studies (71.4%). Contrary to the initial coding, ḥifẓ al-bi'ah is explicitly incorporated in one study (14.3%), whereas ḥifẓ al-ummah is not explicitly operationalized. The principal research gap is therefore not the complete absence of contemporary maqāṣid, but their limited and uneven integration across digital-business research.
