This article examines students' environmental care behavior as an implementation of environmental character at SMK Bina Satria Medan. The school's mission explicitly includes "membudayakan kebersihan dan keindahan sekolah dan lingkungan" (cultivating cleanliness and beauty of the school and environment), providing a foundation for examining student character in practice. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation and literature review of relevant references. Findings show that although the school has established relevant policies, student awareness remains uneven, with littering and low participation in cleanliness programs persisting. Internal factors include lack of individual awareness and unformed habits, while external factors include minimal teacher role modeling, inadequate facilities, and lack of consistent programs. The study highlights the importance of integrating environmental education, consistent teacher role modeling, and participatory activities such as waste banks and eco-creative programs. Recommendations include strengthening routine programs and engaging students in environmental initiatives as key strategies for internalizing environmental character.
