The mathematical problem-solving ability of elementary school students is still relatively low, this is due to the learning process that is less varied and the limited use of interactive learning media. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the application of Math Board media based on Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) to improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of fourth-grade students of SDN Tambun 01. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving experimental and control classes with a total of 30 students each. The research instrument used a descriptive test that was declared valid and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.883. The results of the N-Gain test in the experimental class were 0.71 (high category), while in the control class it was 0.31 (medium category). The results of the hypothesis test using the Independent Sample T-Test showed that the Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.000 <0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the application of Math Board media based on Challenge-Based Learning can improve mathematical problem-solving skills in grade IV of elementary school.
