The disaster preparedness of fifth-grade students at SDN Kertamukti 03 remains suboptimal because disaster mitigation learning in Social Studies is still predominantly delivered through lectures and textbook use. This study aimed to develop a learning medium in the form of a Mitigation-Based Smart Board using the ADDIE model, determine the feasibility of the medium, and examine its effectiveness in improving students’ disaster preparedness. The practicality of the medium was analyzed through teacher and student responses as supporting data. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects were 35 fifth-grade students at SDN Kertamukti 03. Data were collected through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis, N-Gain, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, a paired-samples t-test, and effect size. The results showed that the medium obtained validation scores of 98.21% from the media expert, 100% from the language expert, and 83.33% from the subject-matter expert, all categorized as highly feasible. The teacher response of 88.46% and student response of 85.93% indicated that the medium was highly practical. The N-Gain score of 0.60 was categorized as moderate. The paired-samples t-test yielded a t-value of 13.810 with a significance value of <0.001, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The effect size of 2.33 indicated a very large effect on improving students’ disaster preparedness.
