Dental caries and periodontal disease are common oral diseases associated with dental plaque accumulation, particularly on interproximal surfaces that are difficult to clean by toothbrushing alone. Dental floss helps remove plaque from these areas. This study aimed to identify factors associated with dental floss use among adults in DKI Jakarta. An analytic cross-sectional study was conducted among 480 adults. Data were collected using an online questionnaire assessing sociodemographic characteristics, dental floss knowledge, and oral hygiene practices. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and logistic regression. Most respondents were aged 18–25 years (71.7%). Although 90.4% brushed their teeth twice daily, only 18.8% followed the recommended brushing schedule. Toothpicks were used by 43.1% of respondents, while 5.2% used sharp objects for food debris removal. Despite 64.8% having good dental floss knowledge, only 38.8% had ever used dental floss and 6.7% used it regularly. Age, income, toothbrushing practices, dental visits, and dental floss knowledge were significantly associated with floss use. Regular dental floss use among adults in DKI Jakarta remains low, therefore, education and professional guidance on interdental cleaning practices are needed to improve preventive behaviors at oral and dental diseases.
