Academic reporting requires structured data management to ensure that student information, assessments, grades, attendance, and report-card components can be processed consistently and traced effectively. In the case study of SDN 002 Tarempa, academic data management still involves multiple documents and spreadsheet workbooks, which may lead to repeated data entry, different data versions, and difficulties during the reporting process. This study aims to design and implement a web-based academic reporting application, develop an operational database and dimensional reporting structure, implement academic business rules, and evaluate the functional conformity of the application. The study applies Design Science Research (DSR) as the main research framework, consisting of problem identification, definition of solution objectives, design and development, demonstration, evaluation, and communication. Evolutionary prototyping is used as an iterative mechanism during application development. Data were collected through interviews using structured questions delivered via WhatsApp, document analysis, academic workbook analysis, and literature review. The resulting application was developed using Laravel/PHP with a MariaDB/MySQL database. It supports authentication and role-based access, academic data management, assessments and grades, final grade calculation, learning achievement descriptions, attendance, report finalization and publication, student data import, activity auditing, and PDF report generation. In addition to the operational database, a separate data mart was implemented, consisting of twelve dimension tables, five fact tables, one bridge table, two loading-control tables, and three reporting views. Evaluation results show that all 74 functional requirements included in the tests passed, while three additional requirements have not yet been evaluated through end-to-end testing. Twenty detailed black-box test cases and five calculation-verification samples also produced the expected results. The study is limited to a local environment and does not yet include formal UAT, comprehensive security and load testing, end-to-end ETL testing, or production deployment.
