This study aims to describe the role of parents in developing helping behavior among early childhood children in Panca Usaha Street, RT 048 RW 010, 5 Ulu Village, Seberang Ulu I District, Palembang, as well as the challenges faced by parents in fostering helping behavior in early childhood. This research employed a descriptive qualitative design using a field research approach. The informants involved in this study included the head of RT 048 and parents who have early childhood children. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Zamroni’s data analysis technique, which consists of four stages: reading the data, coding, assigning meaning, developing relationships among the data, and finally presenting the findings in the form of a coherent narrative. The findings reveal that parents play several important roles in developing helping behavior among early childhood children. First, parents act as educators by providing children with an understanding of helping behavior. Second, parents serve as role models by demonstrating helping behavior in their daily lives. Third, parents act as guides by directing and encouraging children to share and help others. Fourth, parents function as supervisors by monitoring their children's play environment and social interactions. Finally, parents act as mentors by providing advice and motivation to encourage helping behavior
