Fish processing requires proper handling to maintain product quality. One of the main challenges is the fish drying process, which is highly vulnerable to weather changes, particularly rainfall. To address this problem, this research develops an automatic smart drying rack prototype that can adapt to weather conditions in real time using a rain sensor and a microcontroller as the main control unit. The system is designed to automatically detect rainfall, allowing the drying rack to move into a closed position and protect the fish from exposure to rainwater. Thus, the fish drying process can be carried out more efficiently without requiring continuous supervision. The prototype uses an Arduino Uno microcontroller integrated with a rain sensor and a servo motor as an actuator to operate the drying rack's cover mechanism. Testing is conducted by observing the sensor's ability to detect rainfall conditions and the actuator's response in opening and closing the drying rack according to the detected conditions. The test results are expected to demonstrate that the system can respond quickly and accurately to changes in weather conditions, thereby minimizing the risk of fish becoming wet and experiencing a decrease in quality. The developed system does not require an internet connection, allowing it to operate independently and simply. This prototype is expected to provide an alternative solution for small- and medium-scale fish processing businesses in improving the efficiency, safety, and quality of the fish drying process.
