Emotion regulation in early childhood plays an important role in supporting social competence, self-control, and psychological well-being. However, not all parents have an adequate understanding of how to support children’s emotions in a supportive manner. This community service aimed to improve parents’ understanding of supporting emotion regulation in early childhood through psychoeducation. The program involved 15 parents of young children in Bumijo, Yogyakarta. The psychoeducation used an emotional parenting module developed by the community service team. Evaluation employed a descriptive approach through open-ended responses to explore participants’ experiences after the program. The results showed that participants gained a greater understanding of children’s emotional development, supportive communication, and more responsive emotion-support strategies. Participants also demonstrated greater awareness of the importance of managing their own emotions in parenting and a commitment to applying the material in daily life. This activity demonstrates that psychoeducation can serve as a preventive intervention in supporting the strengthening of emotional parenting. This program addresses a gap in parenting education by integrating support for children’s emotions with parents’ reflection on their own emotional regulation.
