This study maps research trends on the counselor professional code of ethics in the Scopus database using bibliometric analysis. The dataset comprised 283 documents published between 2021 and 2026 and was analyzed in VOSviewer through keyword co-occurrence mapping, authorship analysis, and country and subject-area mapping. Publication output fluctuated but tended to increase, from 41 documents in 2021 to 56 in 2026. The most frequent keyword was ethics (34 occurrences), followed by public health (17) and mental health (13). The mapping produced four thematic clusters: (1) ethics, practice, and professionalism; (2) interventions and clinical trials; (3) clinical services and genetic counseling; and (4) technology, viability, and clinical testing. The United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom were the largest contributors, and authorship was widely dispersed, with the most productive author contributing only four documents. The findings indicate that counselor ethics research develops across disciplines, particularly in health and genetic counseling, whereas digital counseling ethics, school counselor ethics, and non-Western cultural contexts do not appear among the dominant keywords or clusters. These results offer direction for researchers, counselor educators, and professional associations seeking to strengthen scholarship on counselor codes of ethics.
