<![CDATA[This study examines parenting patterns and parental efforts to minimize deviant behavior among children in Sakra Village, Central Sakra District. The study employed a qualitative case-study approach with descriptive analysis. Participants consisted of 10 parents and 10 children identified in the research as having experienced or engaged in deviant behavior. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show two dominant parenting patterns among the participating families: permissive and authoritarian parenting. Six of the 10 families tended toward permissive parenting, characterized by extensive freedom, limited supervision, and the tendency to fulfill children's wishes without consistent rules. Four families tended toward authoritarian parenting, characterized by rigid rules, limited warmth and communication, and the use of punishment, including physical punishment. The study also identifies four contextual factors associated with the emergence or persistence of deviant behavior: negative peer influence, differences between parents in child-rearing practices, parents' work-related busyness, and disharmonious family conditions. Parental efforts to minimize deviant behavior include increasing supervision and motivation, reducing work-related busyness to create interaction time, and rebuilding a harmonious, communicative, and open family environment. The findings indicate that minimizing deviant behavior requires a balance between parental control, emotional warmth, communication, and consistent guidance rather than either excessive freedom or excessive coercion.]]>
