Soft clay soil has characteristics that make it prone to a decrease in strength and stability due to loading or changes in moisture, which can lead to structural damage in buildings. Therefore, efforts to improve soil quality by adding additives, such as sulfur and pozzolan (tras), are necessary. This study aims to enhance the quality of soft clay soil and examine its effects on soil mechanical strength through direct shear tests and unconfined compression tests. The results indicate that pozzolan significantly increases the soil's mechanical capacity. The addition of 4% pozzolan increased the shear strength from 0.4316 kg/cm² to 0.6103 kg/cm² and the unconfined compressive strength from 0.453 kg/cm² to 0.631 kg/cm². The optimal value was achieved with 8% pozzolan content, resulting in a shear strength of 0.9675 kg/cm² and an unconfined compressive strength of 1.014 kg/cm². The addition of sulfur to soil stabilized with 4% pozzolan also proved effective, with optimal results at 6% sulfur content, yielding a shear strength of 0.9526 kg/cm² and an unconfined compressive strength of 1.123 kg/cm². However, excessive sulfur addition resulted in a decline in mechanical properties. This study concludes that the combination of pozzolan and sulfur is effective in improving the strength of soft clay soil, with the optimal content being 8% for pozzolan and 6% for sulfur.
