<![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the role of the Pundjung Batara Village Forest Management Institution (LPHD) in forest conservation through the local wisdom value of Nyaga Remak in Nanga Betung Village, Boyan Tanjung District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Nyaga Remak is a local term signifying forest preservation, manifested through the involvement of the institution and the community in monitoring the forest area. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Research informants included LPHD administrators and community members knowledgeable about or involved in village forest management. The results indicate that the LPHD acts as a regulator and rule enforcer, a community facilitator and educator, and a mobilizer of citizen participation. These roles are realized through the dissemination of regulations, coordination with the village government and relevant agencies, training, community capacity building, and village forest patrols. Routine patrols are conducted monthly totaling 12 times a year supplemented by two joint monitoring patrols annually. Monitoring activities are based on dividing the approximately 1,995 hectare village forest into 35 patrol blocks. The study concludes that integrating the Nyaga Remak value into LPHD activities strengthens community engagement in forest preservation. Consistent patrols, environmental education, the involvement of the younger generation, and cross stakeholder coordination remain essential to sustaining these efforts.]]>
