A multimeter is a tool used in electronics labs to measure current, voltage, and resistance. Most electronics students are high school graduates who lack prior exposure to laboratory tools such as multimeters. This study adopts a qualitative approach to explore students’ perspectives and difficulties in operating multimeters during basic electronics practicum. The findings reveal technical challenges such as incorrect probe placement and range selection, as well as psychological barriers including hesitation and fear of damaging the instrument. Guidance from lecturers and technicians proved crucial in helping students gradually gain proficiency. These insights highlight the importance of structured training and supportive environments to improve students’ confidence and measurement skills.
