This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with deep breathing relaxation techniques in reducing learning stress levels among students at SMAN 5 Palopo. A quantitative quasi-experimental approach was employed, utilizing a one group pretest-posttest design. Participants consisted of ten Grade XI students selected through purposive sampling based on indicators of high learning stress. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale stress questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. The results revealed a significant reduction in learning stress following the intervention, with the mean pretest score of 137.00 decreasing to a posttest mean of 108.20. This difference was confirmed statistically through a Paired Sample T-Test, yielding a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings demonstrate that group counseling integrated with deep breathing relaxation is effective in alleviating student learning stress. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size, include a control group, and explore the long-term sustainability of the intervention’s effects across diverse school settings
