This study investigates the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to improve students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Education. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model and conducted in two cycles with eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Data were collected through cognitive tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings indicate that PBL contributed to improvements in students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes, accompanied by increased classroom participation and engagement. The improvements were attributed to the integration of authentic problems, collaborative activities, and reflective learning processes. This study highlights the potential of PBL as a contextual learning approach for strengthening meaningful learning experiences in Islamic Education.
