ABSTRACT The first trimester of pregnancy is a crucial phase of systemic adaptation that frequently triggers physical discomfort, specifically nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum or morning sickness). In society, its management is still predominantly dominated by chemical drug therapies, which often induce maternal anxiety regarding the potential risk of teratogenic effects on the fetus. As a safe, economical, and low-side-effect alternative, a non-pharmacological approach such as aromatherapy using eucalyptus oil (Melaleuca leucadendra) can be utilized. Eucalyptus oil contains 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol) as its primary active compound, which stimulates neurochemical pathways in the brain to suppress the activity of the vomiting center. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of administering eucalyptus oil in reducing the incidence of emesis gravidarum in first-trimester pregnancies. Method: This study used a Quasi-Experimental method with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The study population comprised all first-trimester pregnant women experiencing nausea and vomiting, with a sample size of 30 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using the Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea (PUQE) score questionnaire. The intervention consisted of inhaling eucalyptus oil aromatherapy for 7 consecutive days. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test with a significance level of α= 0.05. Result: Before the intervention, the majority of respondents experienced mild nausea and vomiting, while 26.70% fell into the severe category. Following the aromatherapy inhalation intervention, significant clinical improvement was observed: no respondents remained in the severe category. Based on the Wilcoxon test results, the comparison of nausea and vomiting severity levels before and after the intervention yielded a p-value of 0,00 (p 0.05). Conclusion: There is a highly significant difference in the frequency of nausea and vomiting among first-trimester pregnant women before and after the intervention. Thus, the administration of eucalyptus oil is proven to be effective in reducing the incidence of emesis gravidarum in the first trimester of pregnancy Keywords: Emesis Gravidarum, Eucalyptus OilFirst Trimester, PUQE. Tingkat keparahan mual muntah diukur menggunakan instrumen kuesioner Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea (PUQE) score sebelum dan sesudah intervensi inhalasi minyak kayu putih selama 7 hari berturut-turut.
