The research was designed to use a physical fitness poster as an instructional tool for PJOK (Physical Education, Sports, and Health) class instructional use (PDIP) to improve the learning interest of third grade students enrolled in SD Negeri 1 Kauman Malang. There were 27 third grade participants involved in the trial, which used a Research and Development (R&D) approach and followed the Borg and Gall R&D Model through seven steps: (1) preliminary investigation and data collection, (2) planning, (3) initial product, (4) expert validation, (5) product revision, (6) field trials, and (7) final product approval. The data collection instruments used by the research team included two instruments measuring the validity of the physical fitness poster from media and subject matter expert perspectives, and a survey instrument measuring student learning interest prior to and after using the poster in class. The results from the physical fitness poster expert evaluation were 97 percent (media specialist) and 84 percent (subject matter specialist) feasibility ratings, meaning the poster was deemed extremely feasible by both experts. The results from the PJOK students were overwhelmingly positive for improving student learning interest: the overall mean for the participants was 66 out of 100 and 94 out of 100 after using the poster, thus resulting in a 0.82 N-Gain and 0.000 significance from a paired sample t-test. These results indicate that the physical fitness poster can serve as an effective means of providing quality instruction for the PJOK instructional program and, thus, can be used to increase learning interest.
