Abstract

This article reviews the challenges and opportunities of Z Generation in implementing religious moderation in the digital space. Z Generation is characterized as an open and tolerant generation. Even though it has many negative influences, digital space also has a positive influence on society, especially Generation Z as digital natives in spreading religious moderation. This study used an online survey method for Z generation combined with library research. This discussion examines the many challenges of Z generation in the digital space regarding deviations from religion and opportunities in spreading religious moderation. Given the growing development of extreme/radical group movements in the digital space, to maintain the stability of socio-religious life, it needs to be balanced with polite (moderate) Islamic teachings. Extremism, radicalism and terrorism are ideologies that are contrary to the views of society, so there needs to be a systematic effort to overcome them. Moreover, technological developments, especially in the digital space, are increasing rapidly. Therefore, this article seeks to explore the important contributions that Generation Z can make as productive consumers of social media to spread and implement religious moderation

Abstract

The low level of student activeness in PJOK learning among fourth-grade elementary school students became the background of this study. The purpose of this study was to improve elementary school students’ activeness through the implementation of competitive games designed in two action cycles. The study employed classroom action research with the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 28 students of class IV/B at SDN 1 Kauman, Klojen, Malang City. Data were collected through observations conducted by five colleagues using an activeness observation sheet containing five indicators, namely participating in activities, moving according to instructions, being enthusiastic, cooperating, as well as being orderly and sportsmanlike. The pre-cycle was conducted on April 16, 2026, cycle I on April 30, 2026 through Triple Fit Relay, and cycle II on May 7, 2026 through competitive games using a point and point-reduction system. The results showed that student activeness increased from 48% in the pre-cycle to 64% in cycle I, then reached 83% in cycle II. This indicates that competitive games were able to improve students’ activeness in PJOK learning gradually and systematically.

Abstract

This study aimed to enhance the discipline of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Kauman 1 during Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) lessons on physical fitness by applying the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model integrated with circuit training exercises. The study adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart framework, encompassing the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection across two research cycles. A total of 27 students participated in the study, of whom 19 were identified as exhibiting low levels of discipline during the preliminary observation. The circuit training program included five activity stations: shuttle runs, hoop jumps, skipping, sit-ups, and stair climbing exercises. Data were gathered through observations, documentation, and field notes using a student discipline observation instrument evaluated by two observers. The findings revealed a substantial increase in student discipline, rising from 29.6% during the pre-cycle phase to 63.0% in the first cycle and reaching 85.2% in the second cycle. These findings suggest that the integration of the STAD learning model with circuit training activities can effectively foster student discipline in elementary school PJOK classes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning medium based on the “Traffic Light” game to enhance the fundamental motor skills of Phase A elementary school students. The study was motivated by the limited use of engaging and varied learning media in PJOK lessons, which often led to low student participation, reduced concentration, and decreased enthusiasm during learning activities. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants included media experts, material experts, PJOK teachers, and Phase A students of SD Negeri Kauman 1 Malang. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and documentation and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings revealed that the developed learning medium achieved a highly valid classification based on the material expert evaluation, with an overall validation score of 85.9%. The pilot and field trials produced excellent results, with scores of 87.5% and 91.6%, respectively. In addition, the teacher practicality assessment reached 90%, indicating that the medium was highly practical for classroom implementation. The use of the “Traffic Light” game-based learning medium also increased students’ participation, concentration, and enthusiasm during PJOK lessons. Therefore, the developed learning medium is considered feasible and practical for supporting the development of fundamental motor skills among Phase A elementary school students. These findings highlight the pedagogical potential of game-based learning media to create more engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate physical education experiences in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using diorama-assisted learning materials to improve fifth grade SD Negeri Kauman 1 Malang students' comprehension of basic crawl swimming strokes. The researchers conducted a quantitative study with a pre-experimental design using a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample population for the research was made up of 27 fifth grade students selected by means of saturated sampling. Data were collected by means of achievement tests, direct observation, and documentation, and the change in the students' performance was calculated using the N-Gain formula, which determines how much improvement in performance there was from pre-test to post-test scores using diorama media as a means of creating interest in the material. Based on the results, the average pretest score of 88.33 improved to an average posttest score of 96.66 following the application of the diorama media. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain was found to be 0.63. Furthermore, the learning media promoted greater student involvement during lessons, reflected in higher levels of attention, enthusiasm, and participation. Therefore, diorama-based instructional media can serve as a practical and engaging teaching alternative in elementary physical education, particularly in learning activities related to crawl-stroke swimming.

Abstract

The research was designed to use a physical fitness poster as an instructional tool for PJOK (Physical Education, Sports, and Health) class instructional use (PDIP) to improve the learning interest of third grade students enrolled in SD Negeri 1 Kauman Malang. There were 27 third grade participants involved in the trial, which used a Research and Development (R&D) approach and followed the Borg and Gall R&D Model through seven steps: (1) preliminary investigation and data collection, (2) planning, (3) initial product, (4) expert validation, (5) product revision, (6) field trials, and (7) final product approval. The data collection instruments used by the research team included two instruments measuring the validity of the physical fitness poster from media and subject matter expert perspectives, and a survey instrument measuring student learning interest prior to and after using the poster in class. The results from the physical fitness poster expert evaluation were 97 percent (media specialist) and 84 percent (subject matter specialist) feasibility ratings, meaning the poster was deemed extremely feasible by both experts. The results from the PJOK students were overwhelmingly positive for improving student learning interest: the overall mean for the participants was 66 out of 100 and 94 out of 100 after using the poster, thus resulting in a 0.82 N-Gain and 0.000 significance from a paired sample t-test. These results indicate that the physical fitness poster can serve as an effective means of providing quality instruction for the PJOK instructional program and, thus, can be used to increase learning interest.

Abstract

The motivation level of students to learn is very low in PJOK(physical education, sports, and health) within elementary schools, especially in fourth grade. The aim of this study was to determine whether incorporating motion control cards could improve student motivation when participating in PJOK. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, developed by Kemmis and McTaggart, was used with two cycles that included the Plan, Action, Observation, and Reflection stages of CAR. The majority of the participants were 28 fourth-grade students attending SDN Kauman 1 during the academic year 2005/2006. Data were obtained through structured observations using a Learning Motivation Observation Sheet, which measured four indicators: enthusiasm for Learning, participation of the student, enthusiasm to participate in Learning, and level of involvement with PJOK activities. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive technique by calculating the percentage of achievement for each indicator in each cycle. The results showed a significant increase in learning motivation, from 57.14% in the pre-cycle to 71.43% in Cycle I and increasing again to 89.29% in Cycle II. All motivation indicators consistently improved and exceeded the success criterion of 80%. Thus, the motion control card media proved effective in improving the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in PJOK learning and has the potential to become an innovative learning media capable of encouraging active student participation in elementary schools.
