Approximately 80.18% of Cilacap Regency consists of agricultural land. The size of this land area directly correlates with the volume of agricultural production as well as the amount of waste generated. Compared to other industries, this type of waste can cause significant environmental pollution if not properly managed. Although some of this waste may already be utilized by local communities, its management practices remain largely undocumented. This study aims to identify and map the potential of agricultural waste in order to support its sustainable management and minimize environmental impacts. In Cilacap Regency, based on the results of this study, the Priority 1 areas for the development of agricultural waste processing centers include the districts of Gandrungmangu, Kawunganten, Cipari, Wanareja, Majenang, Kedungreja, and Jeruklegi. Based on projected agricultural waste potential from the two major food commodities rice and maize the largest waste output in 2026 is expected to come from rice straw (24,112 million tons/year), followed by maize stalks and leaves 860,812 thousand tons/year). A variety of management and utilization options are available across three levels of technology.
