Poetry writing skill is one of the productive learning achievements in Phase E of the Merdeka Curriculum, which is often considered difficult by students due to limitations in imagination and diction. This study aims to describe the improvement of poetry writing skills through Event Card Media among class X students at SMA Negeri 9 Surabaya. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model conducted in two cycles, comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research sample consisted of 36 students. Data were collected through observation, achievement tests, and documentation, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that Event Card Media was able to trigger visual imagination, enrich word choices, and increase student active participation. Quantitatively, the students' average poetry writing score increased from an average of 68.83 in Cycle I to an average of 80.22 in Cycle II. Student learning mastery also experienced a significant increase from 22.22% (8 students) to 100% (36 students) meeting the passing criteria (KKM ≥ 75). Thus, the application of Event Card Media is proven to be effective in improving students' poetry writing skills.
