Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease requiring continuous management to prevent complications. One important concern is diabetic foot complications, which may develop from unrecognized risk factors and inadequate foot self-care. This community service activity aimed to improve participants’ knowledge regarding diabetes complication prevention and increase awareness of the importance of health examination and diabetic foot risk screening. The activity was conducted on 3 September 2026 at RPTRA Payung Tunas Teratai, East Jakarta, involving 20 people with diabetes mellitus. The activity consisted of health education followed by blood glucose testing and diabetic foot risk screening. The education was delivered interactively and covered diabetes mellitus, risk factors for complications, warning signs, complication prevention, and the importance of foot care. Knowledge was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments. The mean knowledge score increased from 70 before education to 90 after education, representing a 20-point increase (28.6%). Blood glucose testing and diabetic foot risk screening provided participants with an opportunity to identify health conditions requiring further monitoring. An educational approach combined with simple health examinations and risk screening can serve as an applicable promotive and preventive strategy for people with diabetes in community settings. Similar activities should be conducted periodically and followed by appropriate referral or monitoring through health services
