Mathematical problem-solving ability remains a challenge in mathematics education, highlighting the need for learning strategies that actively engage students. This study aimed to: (1) examine the difference in mathematical problem-solving ability between students who participated in Teams Games Tournament (TGT) assisted by Wordwall and those who received conventional instruction; and (2) determine the effect of the learning model on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability. An experiment was conducted using a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design involving two eighth-grade classes at SMP Negeri 1 Blado selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected through an essay test based on Polya’s problem-solving indicators and analyzed using the R software. The findings showed a significant difference in mathematical problem-solving ability between the two groups with a mean posttest score of for the experimental class and for the control class. The Cohen’s d value of indicated a moderate effect of TGT assisted by Wordwall on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability in the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). These findings suggest that TGT assisted by Wordwall can be considered as an alternative mathematics learning strategy that combines competitive activities with digital media to support students’ mathematical problem-solving ability
