Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has transformed the ways knowledge is produced, accessed, and distributed. Digital activities generate data traces that can be analyzed as big data to understand communication patterns and user behavior. In the context of regional language preservation, digital data provides opportunities to map language use, identify frequently accessed vocabulary, and examine community participation. This study analyzes the role of big data in BASAibu Wiki-Sulsel as a digital platform for preserving the Makassarese language. A qualitative approach was employed through a literature review, observation, interviews, and surveys. The findings indicate that users’ digital activities generate strategic data for identifying language vitality and cultural participation. These findings provide an empirical basis for developing adaptive and evidence-based language revitalization policies.
