A simple innovation in the form of a multifunctional feed-chopping machine was introduced to help poultry farmer groups in Aek Songsongan Village, Asahan Regency, prepare feed more easily and efficiently. The machine was constructed using a 20 kg paint bucket as the chopping chamber and was designed to process various feed materials, including grass, leaves, vegetables, and other locally available feed ingredients. The community service activities included machine construction and introduction, operational demonstrations, hands-on practice, and guidance on safe operation and maintenance. The results showed that the machine was able to chop feed materials into smaller and relatively uniform pieces, making them easier to mix with other poultry feed ingredients. The use of the machine also accelerated the chopping process and reduced the labor required compared with manual cutting. In addition, the farmer group was able to understand how to operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance of the machine after use. Overall, this multifunctional feed-chopping machine provides a simple, economical, and user-friendly solution for improving the efficiency of poultry feed preparation.
