This study aims to assess students' understanding and active participation in Pancasila Education lessons, specifically regarding the topic of rights and obligations at home, at school, and in the community. The study employs a qualitative approach involving direct observation of fourth-grade students at the HKBP 2 Sidorame Private Elementary School in Medan. Data were collected by observing student activities while using a "rights and obligations" card board aid. The results indicate that while students possess a basic understanding of rights and obligations, they still struggle to distinguish between the two and determine their application across different settings. Through card-sorting activities, students engaged directly with the lesson, allowing the teacher to gauge their level of understanding and foster active participation. Thus, the rights and obligations card board serves as a viable alternative instructional tool to help enhance student understanding and engagement in Pancasila Education.
