This study aims to describe the application of the Picture and Picture model in improving news text writing skills and fostering nationalism character among grade VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Alla, Enrekang Regency. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach following the Kemmis & McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 29 grade VII students. Data were collected through news writing tests and student activity observation sheets, analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques. The results showed consistent improvement: pre-cycle average 76.01 (65.51% completion), Cycle I 78.03 (72.4%), Cycle II 79.55 (79.31%). Student activity improved from 60% to 93.33%. Nationalism character developed positively in students' writing. Thus, the Picture and Picture model is proven effective in improving news text writing skills while fostering nationalism character.
