<![CDATA[In today's modern society, the internet is increasingly preferred over reading printed books. The low level of reading interest is partly attributed to inadequate library facilities and infrastructure that are not yet fully relevant to technological developments and users' needs. To address these issues, a hybrid library with an adaptive architecture approach is proposed to create a facility capable of accommodating both conventional and digital information services while adapting to changes in community behavior. The main concept applied is based on the principles of adaptive architecture, including flexibility, convertibility, expandability, and durability. The design method consists of several stages, including a literature review, primary and secondary data collection, field observation, space requirements analysis, site analysis, and analyses of function, form, structure, utilities, and building physics. The design results in a three-story library building that accommodates various activities, including reading, learning, discussion, collaborative work, and access to digital information. The application of adaptive architecture principles produces a flexible spatial layout through an open-plan concept, as well as reading stairs that can accommodate various activities. Spatial development is supported by vertical zoning, while the response to the tropical climate is achieved through the use of curtain walls and Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). These applications are expected to improve the quality of library services while supporting the development of community literacy.]]>
