Abstract

Presidential foreign visits are one form of exercising executive authority in conducting foreign relations and may be directed toward strengthening national economic interests. This study aims to analyze presidential foreign visits for economic interests as a form of executive authority and to examine their implementation from the perspective of Siyasah Tanfidziyah. This research employs normative legal research using a descriptive-analytical approach, statutory approach, conceptual approach, and case approach. The data were obtained through library research using primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. The cases analyzed include President Prabowo Subianto’s visits to China, Singapore, and Canada. The results show that presidential foreign visits for economic interests constitute an exercise of executive authority through high-level diplomacy, bilateral relations, the strengthening of trade and investment, and the establishment and enhancement of economic cooperation. From the perspective of Siyasah Tanfidziyah, such implementation can be considered consistent with the principles of Islamic governance when conducted within legitimate authority, carried out as a leadership trust, and directed toward achieving public benefit for society and the state. However, the success of foreign visits cannot be assessed solely based on the number of agreements, memoranda of understanding, or investment commitments, but must also be evaluated based on the implementation and tangible benefits generated for society.
