This study aims to determine whether learning motivation influences students' understanding of matrix concepts in Grade XI at SMA Mujahidin. The study employs a quantitative research method with a simple linear regression approach, focusing on Grade XI students as the study population. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire and a test assessing the understanding of matrix concepts. Simple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The results indicate no significant influence of learning motivation on the students' ability to understand matrix concepts (since t-calculated < t-table); thus, it can be assumed that learning motivation does not significantly affect this conceptual understanding. Conceptual understanding stems from high curiosity and environmental encouragement. This study offers insights to help teachers conduct more effective, innovative, and interactive learning processes for their students
