The rapid pace of digitalization has led to an increase in online gaming among elementary school students, which has been empirically shown to contribute to various challenges in students’ academic, psychosocial, and self-regulation development. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive synthesis of various scientific findings regarding the negative impacts of such activities in order to map out the full pattern of their influence. By applying the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, this study analyzed ten scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar from 2021 to 2025. Data were extracted using a synthesis matrix that identified study profiles, substantive focus, and key findings, and were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The research results confirm that online gaming addiction is linearly associated with a decline in academic achievement, reduced focus, procrastination, and emotional instability in children. As a practical implication, these findings serve as a strategic foundation for educators and parents in designing more systematic monitoring mechanisms and digital literacy intervention policies. It is hoped that, through strengthened supervision and balanced guidance, elementary school students can develop healthier patterns of technology use and minimize the risk of long-term developmental disorders.
