Abstract

The transformation of Islamic education curriculum has become an urgent necessity in responding to social changes, the development of digital technology, and the increasing complexity of multicultural societal life. Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic Senior High School) as an Islamic educational institution plays a strategic role in shaping students' religious character that is moderate, inclusive, and oriented towards national values. This study aims to describe and analyze the transformation of the contemporary Islamic education curriculum in the process of internalizing religious moderation values at Madrasah Aliyah. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a conceptual-empirical research type. Data were collected through documentation studies of various educational regulations, policy documents, scientific journal articles, books, and relevant previous research findings. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was obtained through source triangulation. The research findings indicate that the internalization of religious moderation values is carried out through four forms of curriculum transformation: reconstruction of Islamic education objectives, integration of religious moderation values in learning materials, transformation of student-centered learning strategies, and strengthening of an inclusive madrasah culture. This study emphasizes that religious moderation needs to be positioned as a core value in the development of the Islamic education curriculum to foster a generation of Muslims who are religious, tolerant, humanistic, and adaptive to contemporary societal dynamics.
