The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed educational practices while raising ethical and human-centered concerns. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges of AI utilization in education and examine the relevance of religious values in maintaining humanizing education. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through library research, analyzing relevant academic literature and policy documents using thematic analysis. The findings show that AI can support personalized, efficient, and accessible learning, as well as assist teachers in educational activities. However, its use also presents challenges, including reduced human interaction, technological dependency, unequal access, data privacy, algorithmic bias, and potential dehumanization. Religious values, particularly maṣlaḥa and Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah, can provide an ethical foundation for ensuring that AI use remains oriented toward justice, responsibility, protection of intellect, and human dignity. Thus, humanizing education in the AI era requires positioning technology as a supporting tool while maintaining humans at the center of the educational process.
