Disaster preparedness among students is important to help schools respond appropriately to disaster situations. This community service activity aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness among students at SMP Negeri 1 Manyak Payed, Aceh Tamiang, through education on basic preparedness and appropriate actions during disasters. The activity involved 40 students using an educational and participatory approach through material delivery, demonstrations, introduction to disaster preparedness equipment, and direct interaction. Evaluation was conducted through observation and a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire. The results showed an overall average response score of 4.28 out of 5 or 85.50%. The highest score was found for the suitability of the materials to students’ needs, at 4.45 or 89%, while the lowest was for ease of understanding the materials, at 4.05 or 81%. These results indicate that the educational and participatory approach was well received by the students. As a follow-up, disaster preparedness education can be developed through regular evacuation simulations, strengthening school disaster preparedness teams, and integration with the Safe Education Unit for Disaster (SPAB) program.
