Body odor is a condition that can be caused by bacterial activity on the skin surface, particularly Staphylococcus Aureus, which decomposes sweat components into volatile odor-producing compounds. Long-term use of synthetic deodorants may cause irritation; therefore, natural ingredients can serve as an alternative. Raja banana peel (Musa paradisiaca L.) contains secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins, which have potential antibacterial activity. This study aimed to formulate ethanol extract of Raja banana peel into a spray deodorant, evaluate its physical characteristics, and assess its antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus Aureus. An experimental laboratory study was conducted using three formulations based on extract concentrations: F1 16%, F2 20%, and F3 24%, while F0 served as the control. The evaluations included organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, drying time, spreadability, irritation, and hedonic tests. Antibacterial activity was evaluated using the disc diffusion method based on inhibition zone diameter. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. All formulations met the physical requirements, with pH values of 5.50–5.68, viscosity of 2.03–4.37 mPa.s, drying time of less than 5 minutes, and spreadability of 5.3–5.8 cm. The highest inhibition zone of the deodorant was observed in F2 at 8.35 mm. Thus, the extract has potential for development as a natural spray deodorant.
