Waste is one of the environmental issues that remains a challenge in Indonesia, including in the school environment. The implementation of 3R-based waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) needs to be supported by an increase in students' knowledge and attitudes towards waste management. This study aims to determine the relationship between students' knowledge and attitudes regarding 3R-based waste management after being given education. The study used a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted in April 2026 at MTs Nurul Huda Medan with a sample of students selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through pretest and posttest questionnaires, then analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the average student knowledge score increased, but there was no statistically significant difference (p = 0.648). Meanwhile, the average attitude score increased with a p value of 0.033 (p <0.05) indicating a significant difference between before and after education. 3R-based waste management education has been proven to improve students' attitudes towards waste management, although it has not provided a significant increase in the level of knowledge. Therefore, continuous education and more interactive learning methods are needed to improve students' understanding of 3R-based waste management.
