<![CDATA[The ability to recognize letters is one of the important aspects in early childhood language development which is the basis for reading and writing skills at the next level of education. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of flashcard media on the ability to recognize letters in children aged 4–5 years at Al Ajra Kindergarten. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design method using the One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample amounted to 20 group A children who were selected using saturated sampling techniques. The research instrument was in the form of an observation sheet on the ability to recognize letters that had been validated. The data were analyzed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed that there was an increase in letter recognition ability after being treated using flashcard media. The average pretest score of 58.25 increased to 84.70 in the posttest. The results of the t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that flashcard media has a significant effect on improving the literacy skills of children aged 4–5 years at Al Ajra Kindergarten.]]>
