Competitive anxiety and achievement motivation can be determining factors for victory or failure depending on the athlete's ability to adapt to competitive pressure. This study aims to provide an overview of the psychological profile of athletes in the context of competition, specifically assessing the level of competitive anxiety and achievement motivation of athletes who will compete in the 2025 South Kalimantan PORPROV event. This study uses mixed methods with an explanatory sequential design. Participants in this study were athletes registered and prepared to participate in the 2025 South Kalimantan PORPROV from 13 cities/regencies totaling 563 athletes selected by random sampling. Quantitative data collection used the CSAI-2R to measure the level of competitive anxiety of athletes and the Athlete Motivation Instrument based on 4 aspects of motivation according to McClelland to measure athlete achievement motivation. Qualitative data were collected through direct interviews with athletes which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation tests were conducted to see the relationship between the two variables. The results of this study indicate that athletes who will compete in the 2025 South Kalimantan PORPROV have low competitive anxiety and high achievement motivation. Then the correlation between the two variables shows a moderate degree of relationship with a significance of 0.00<0.05 with a Pearson correlation of -476 with a negative relationship direction, which means that the lower the competitive anxiety, the higher the achievement motivation.
