Suboptimal livestock waste management is a problem faced by the community in Sa’dan Likulambe’, Sa’dan District, North Toraja Regency. This program aimed to utilize buffalo waste as raw material for organic fertilizer through a participatory approach and to produce fertilizer for agriculture. The activity involved 45 participants from the Kanaan Farmers Group and buffalo farmers. Stages included observation, problem identification, socialization, demonstration, processing practice, fermentation, drying, sieving, packaging, evaluation, and assistance. Materials consisted of 300 kg of buffalo waste, 80 kg of rice husk, 300 mL of EM4, 300 g of sugar/molasses, and 10 L of water. Fermentation was conducted for 21 days. The activity produced approximately 240–250 kg of organic fertilizer from 380 kg of initial solids, with a mass reduction of 34–37%. Testing showed a pH of 7.1 and moisture content of 18%. The fertilizer was brownish-black, crumbly, odorless, with near-normal temperature. The activity produced fertilizer and provided practical processing experience. However, crop application was not conducted because of dry-season conditions and limited water availability. Therefore, effects on plant growth and agricultural yield could not be evaluated. Further activities should include comprehensive quality testing and crop application trials. Keywords: Buffalo livestock waste; organic fertilizer; fermentation; community empowerment; participatory approach.
