<![CDATA[Achievement motivation is an important psychological factor in junior tennis education because it influences athletes’ persistence, goal orientation, skill development, confidence, and responses to competitive demands. This study aimed to analyze the achievement motivation profile of junior tennis athletes in Sleman Regency and interpret the findings as empirical evidence for developing athlete-centered coaching practices. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed involving 30 junior tennis athletes selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a 16-item questionnaire covering eight indicators: desire to achieve success, goal orientation, perseverance, liking challenges, improving skills, self-confidence, competition, and self-evaluation. The instrument was valid and reliable, with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.922. Descriptive analysis showed an overall mean achievement motivation score of 3.9667, categorized as high. Goal orientation obtained the highest mean score of 4.0667, while the desire to achieve success recorded the lowest mean of 3.8833. All indicators remained within the high category. These findings indicate that junior tennis athletes possess relatively consistent achievement motivation and provide a psychological basis for developing coaching practices that emphasize individual goals, appropriate challenges, constructive feedback, self-evaluation, and greater athlete involvement in the training process.]]>
