This study aimed to determine the effect of implementing the GASING method (Fun, Easy, and Enjoyable Learning) on the mathematical thinking abilities of elementary school students. A quantitative approach was employed using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants comprised 37 fourth-grade students from a public elementary school in Biak Regency. The research instrument was a structured essay test designed to assess mathematical thinking abilities, including conceptual understanding, reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical communication. The data were analyzed using a normality test, paired-samples t-test, and N-Gain calculation. The results showed that the mean pretest score increased from 59.0 to 82.4 on the posttest. The paired-samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference (p < 0.05), demonstrating a significant improvement in students’ mathematical thinking abilities following the implementation of the GASING method. The N-Gain analysis indicated a moderate-to-high level of improvement. Therefore, the GASING method was found to be effective in enhancing elementary school students’ mathematical thinking abilities and can be recommended as an innovative and enjoyable alternative strategy for mathematics instruction.
