This study examines the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based educational games on improving 5th-grade students' critical thinking skills in science lessons on the Human Movement System. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study found that the experimental group's average post-test score was 8.38 (SD = 1.43), while the control group scored 6.96 (SD = 1.82), with a significant difference of 1.42 points. ANOVA analysis showed an F-value of 155.021 (p < 0.05), confirming the treatment's significant impact. The N-Gain analysis revealed an average score of 0.65 (medium category) for the experimental group, whereas the control group showed minimal improvement. Pre-test results indicated similar initial critical thinking abilities, with scores of 6.04 and 6.58. In conclusion, PBL-based educational games significantly enhance critical thinking skills compared to conventional methods, providing a more interactive and engaging learning experience.
