Sharia banking has been a significant influence on the Indonesian economy since 1992, but its growth remains very slow. This requires in-depth analysis to address these challenges. This study aims to determine the opportunities for market share development in Sharia banking in Indonesia through a SWOT analysis. The research method employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through case studies, literature reviews, observations, and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The results of this study examine four SWOT elements: five Strengths, five Weaknesses, four Opportunities, and four Threats, from Sharia banking business operations. The first market share development strategy, Strength–Opportunity (SO), yields three strategic points; the second, Weakness–Opportunity (WO), yields four strategic points; the third, Strength–Threat (ST), yields three strategic points; and the fourth, Weakness–Threat (WT), yields three strategic points. The implications of this research are to provide input on the market share development strategy of the Bojonegoro branch of Bank Syariah, strengthen Islamic financial literacy, and support the implementation of the roadmap for the development and strengthening of Indonesian Islamic banking 2023-2027.
