Bullying cases continue to increase even though many regulations related to child protection have been issued. Bullying is an act of aggression that has long-term and traumatic impacts on its victims. Bullying not only affects the victims but also the perpetrators. Children who become perpetrators of bullying are likely to commit crimes in the future. The family as the child's closest environment is one of the factors that can influence children's involvement in bullying, not only as victims but also perpetrators. Therefore, the family has an important role in efforts to prevent bullying behavior. This article aims to present an overview of the role of the family in preventing bullying behavior through literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the family's understanding of bullying, the formation of values, positive parenting patterns, good role models and a conducive environment can prevent bullying behavior. In addition, collaborative strategies between parents, schools and the government are expected to support the role of the family in preventing the emergence of bullying behavior in children.
