Abstract

This research aims to map the dominant themes of undergraduate theses in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung from 2021 to 2024 using corpus linguistic analysis. Employing a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, the abstracts of student theses were collected from the e-thesis repository, converted to text files, and analyzed using AntConc to identify keyword frequency and thematic distribution. The quantitative findings were then interpreted through literature review to contextualize the trends. The results reveal seven major themes aligning with the official thesis writing guidelines: Instructional Design, Learning Materials, Teaching Methods, Learning Media, Learning Evaluation, Language Environment, and Human Resources in Learning. Among these, Teaching Methods consistently emerged as the most dominant theme each year, followed by Learning Media and Learning Evaluation in specific years. This pattern reflects students’ growing interest in innovative and effective teaching strategies, as well as the integration of technology in Arabic language education. The study contributes a comprehensive thematic map that can guide students and supervisors in selecting relevant and up-to-date thesis topics, while also supporting the diversification and modernization of research in Arabic language education.
