Effectiveness of Reality Counseling with WDEP Technique in Reducing Quarter Life Crisis among Students Abstract Final-year students are in a transition toward the workforce, which makes them vulnerable to Quarter Life Crisis (QLC), namely confusion, anxiety, and doubt about their future. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of reality counseling with the WDEP technique (Wants, Doing and Direction, Evaluation, Planning) in reducing QLC among university students. Theoretically, this study enriches the literature on reality counseling in emerging adulthood; practically, the findings can inform career and academic counseling services in higher education. A quantitative approach with a true experimental pretest-posttest control group design was conducted at Universitas PGRI Argopuro Jember. The population comprised 25 final-year students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program. Using purposive sampling, 16 students were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Based on the pretest, five students with a very high level of QLC in each group were chosen as research subjects. Data were collected using a Likert-scale QLC questionnaire tried out on 22 respondents; of 60 items, 46 were valid (r count > 0.4227) and the instrument was highly reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.968). Data were analyzed using a homogeneity test, the Mann-Whitney test for between-group comparison, and the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. The experimental group’s mean score fell from 203.6 (very high) to 139.4 (moderate), while the control group remained in the very high category (206.4 to 210.4). The Wilcoxon test yielded Asymp. Sig. 0.043 < 0.05. Therefore, reality counseling with the WDEP technique is effective in reducing QLC among final-year students.
