ABSTRACT The integration of digital learning media has become increasingly important in enhancing students’ engagement and comprehension in reading activities. This study aims to investigate the implementation of Heyzine Flipbook in teaching reading comprehension and to explore its benefits and challenges in an Islamic boarding school context. The study employed a qualitative approach as part of a mixed-methods research design. The participants in this study consisted of an English teacher and eighth-grade students at As Sunnah Panciro Islamic Boarding School. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and student interviews. The results showed that the implementation of Heyzine Flipbook was carried out through three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In the preparation stage, the teacher selected reading materials and converted them into digital flipbooks. During the implementation phase, students engaged in reading activities, vocabulary discussions, and comprehension exercises using flipbooks. Evaluation was conducted through class discussions and reading comprehension assignments. This study also identified several benefits of using Heyzine Flipbooks. This digital medium helped improve students' reading comprehension, enrich their vocabulary, increase their learning motivation, and encourage active participation in class activities. Furthermore, the visual and interactive features of flipbooks create a more engaging learning environment compared to conventional reading materials. However, several challenges were encountered during implementation, including limited availability of LCD projectors, restrictions on mobile phone use in boarding school settings, and reliance on school facilities for digital media access. Despite these challenges, findings indicate that Heyzine Flipbook is a valuable digital learning tool that supports reading comprehension instruction and encourages a more interactive and student-centered learning process.
