Menarche is an important indicator of the female puberty process that signifies reproductive maturity. In recent decades, the age of menarche has decreased in various countries, including Indonesia. The study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 162 female students selected using multistage random sampling. Data were collected via a structured questionnaire and analyzed using logistic regression. Proportion early menarche among female students in Parepare (16.67%) (95%CI=10,86-22,46). The factors influencing the occurrence of early menarche among adolescent girls in Pare-Pare City are physical inactivity (OR = 3.101; 95% CI 1.131–8.504) and high parental income (>Rp 5,000,000) were independent risk factors for early menarche, (OR = 4.258; 95% CI 1.084–16.576), whereas a thin nutritional status acted as a protective factor (OR = 0.260; 95% CI 0.084–0.799).
